Annie Julia Redding Obituary

Columbus, Georgia - Annie Julia Redding, 88, of Columbus passed on Friday, November 1, 2024 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Liberty Hill Baptist. Rev. James G. Davis will be officiating. Interment will be held in Green Acres Cemetery.

Annie Julia Redding was born on June 2, 1936 to the late Clarence Brown and Lizzie Mae Mitchell Brown in Columbus, GA. She gave her life to the Lord at age 13 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Anderson. She remained active in the church throughout the years working with the Junior Usher Board, Women's Christian ministry, the nursing home ministry, visitation of the sick and shut in, the Thanksgiving dinner committee and was willing to volunteer and lend a hand wherever God sent her. She loved to cook and showed her unconditional love through culinary arts. Her career started in the cafeteria at Dimon Elementary School in the cafeteria and later retired after 31 years as a supervisor at West Central Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in in death by her sister, Rochelle Ware, brother, Clarence Brown, Jr. her oldest daughter, Lanett Lindsey and her youngest daughter, Valarie Wineglass.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving daughter, Verinda Arnold, Columbus; stepson, Ernest Redding (Pamela), Decatur, GA; stepdaughter, Laverna Cash (Andrew), Ann Arbor, MI; cousin, Lois Prowell, Waukegan, IL, cousin, Ilrene Bryant, Columbus; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and a whole host of others that she adopted in her heart as family.
